There is a kiosk in the very center of Parque Central.
The kiosk was originally built at the end of the 19th century by Englishman Roderick Arthur, who designed it as a masterpiece of woodcarving Victorian architecture of the time.
But only few people know that its construction took more than 6 years.
If you look at old photos of Independence Park from the early 19th century, you can see the old two-story building in the Victorian style on the site of the modern Distribuidora González. This building was built by architect Roderick Arthur in 1895.
